Every Simrad PX System gear monitoring sensor is equipped with a custom-made Li-Ion battery, which is vital for its operation. The Simrad PX MultiSensor Charger has been specifically designed to facilitate charging this battery. This charger is an integral piece of equipment that ensures the Simrad PX sensors are powered and ready for use.

Safe and efficient charging

The Simrad PX MultiSensor Charger is an essential part of the PX System. You must use this charger to charge all the gear monitoring sensors. Charging the catch monitoring sensors between operations is essential to maintain their functionality.

The charger design includes a special plug that prevents shortcuts or incorrect connections. This plug provides a safer charging experience. The charging process is fully automatic and requires minimal intervention. When the sensor is fully charged, the charging current is restricted to prolong the battery's lifespan. We recommend charging your sensors within a room temperature range of +5 to +45°C (+41 to +113°F) to ensure optimal battery care.

The battery charger is made exclusively for use with the batteries used by the Simrad PX gear monitoring sensors. We have designed the charger specifically to meet the requirements of these sensors. Charging the sensors below 0°C (32°F) is not advised. However, the charger incorporates a safety mechanism that protects the sensor during attempted charges in sub-zero temperatures.

NOTE: Do not use the PX MultiSensor Charger on the bridge or at any other location powered by the same power circuit as the bridge equipment.

System requirements and compatibility

This battery charger is a part of the Simrad PX System.

To receive information from the PX System gear monitoring sensors, you need a suitable receiver (PI or SR Series), one or more hydrophones, and a computer running the Simrad TV80 or Simrad PI50 programs.

This Simrad PX System is compatible with all our PI Hydrophones. However, it can also use non-Simrad hydrophones, provided the communication frequency matches.
