A few years ago, a group of employees at the Kongsberg Digital India office in Bengaluru started a committee that does local efforts, on a voluntary basis, to give back to the society they are part of. Since the establishment, they have partnered with several lower resource schools and orphanages. Employees at the local office keep in touch with the schools and orphanages on a regular basis and contribute by providing various types of support where and when they are needed the most. Right now, many local families are having a hard time making ends meet.
Last week, the Kongsberg Digital team received a request from one of the partnering schools to support the families of the students who were deprived of essential commodities due to the lock down situation. The parents, mostly construction labourers, are currently largely deprived of their daily wages with limited active jobs in the market. The team responded by putting together an ‘essentials’ package containing lentils, rice, and other daily commodities to be handed over to each of these families as a small way of contributing to their making it through the difficult times. With all Government directives of social distancing and wearing of masks being followed diligently, Kongsberg Digital employees distributed the packages to 122 families.
