The PSS is an online digital representation of the Production System and comprises a real-time/look-ahead mode and an offline mode. The real-time/look-ahead mode provides a “window” into the well bore subsea flowlines, manifolds and onshore receiving facilities providing information on the gas and liquids not available from instrumentation e.g. liquid content. The offline mode is used for planning and training. The PSS will be built using Kongsberg Digital’s K-Spice Dynamic Process Simulation Platform and the LedaFlow Advanced Transient Multiphase Flow Simulator. Simulator applications include hydrate formation monitoring, virtual metering, slug monitoring, inventory management, leak detection, corrosion and erosion monitoring, etc.
Mike Branchflower, Global Sales Manager for Flow Assurance in Kongsberg Digital, says: “This is another example of our K-Spice and LedaFlow technology being selected for a PSS. The combination of both products provides our clients with the industry leading solution to manage Flow Assurance online.”
Rajesh Baskaran, Vice President – Production Assurance, Kongsberg Digital adds “Kongsberg Digital supplied Reliance Industries the PSS for D1 D3 fields development in 2009 for KG-D6 Block and is delighted to have been awarded this important contract to support the development and operation of the new fields in the block”.
