K-Sim Safety
Advanced firefighting and emergency response training simulator
K‑Sim Safety provides realistic and cost‑efficient training for shipboard firefighting, search and rescue, and emergency management. The simulator supports compliance with STCW regulation VI/3 by enabling hands‑on, scenario‑based training in a safe and controlled virtual environment.
Meeting STCW VI/3 training requirement
K‑Sim Safety is a full‑mission simulation system designed for training in the management and execution of firefighting, search and rescue, and emergency procedures onboard a vessel. Using an immersive 3D environment that replicates real‑life conditions, the system enables emergency teams to assess situations, make decisions, and observe the consequences of their actions during detailed debriefings.
Traditional live‐fire training can be costly, logistically demanding, and limited in scope. K‑Sim Safety complements physical drills by allowing teams to practise critical tasks — such as communication, coordination, equipment use, and emergency navigation — repeatedly and consistently.

Key features
Realistic 3D training environment
- Interactive navigation using an X‑Box controller enables a fully interactive 3D walkthrough of the engine room, multiple upper decks, hotel spaces, corridors, cabins, and muster stations.
- Simulation of fire, smoke, flooding, emergency lighting, ventilation control, fire extinguisher equipment, fireteam presence and missing persons.
- Dedicated smoke diver mode allowing independent movement and training
Full‑mission training for multiple teams
- Supports simultaneous training for one management team and two firefighting teams.
- Integrated Automation System (IAS) and safety panels provide a full overview for decision‑making.
- Includes a realistic fire control and safety plan covering fire stations, equipment locations, and system types.
- Includes CCTV views of selected areas and visualised safety systems.
- 52,000 dwt Suez Max crude oil carrier with 7 decks, based on real general arrangement data.

Key advantages
- Provides safe, repeatable, and cost‑efficient training that complements onboard drills.
- Supports STCW VI/3 competence requirements for advanced firefighting.
- Enhances team coordination, communication, and decision‑making under pressure.
- Reduces risk associated with live practical training by enabling realistic virtual scenarios.
- Enables objective performance evaluation supported by recorded sessions and automatic assessment tools.
- Facilitates integrated crew training when combined with K‑Sim Engine, Cargo, and Navigation systems.
