KONGSBERG’s Port Management Information System (PMIS) is a fully integrated solution that supports the safe and efficient movement of vessel traffic within port limits, with a comprehensive suite of planning, information, and optimization tools. It’s highly configurable to match the needs of any port and is deployed worldwide, building on decades of experience in optimizing marine resources.
Shared situational awareness + KPI-driven performance optimization
An integrated dashboard gives stakeholders shared situational awareness and automatically monitors and reports KPIs such as berth, tug, and pilot utilization – helping ports optimize berth/anchorage use, resources, and services.
The system also supports Maritime Digital Services like Just‑In‑Time arrivals, adheres to Safety Management System processes, and captures validated data such as the Master‑Pilot Exchange (MPX).
Modular, connected, and accessible – from agents to mobile users
PMIS has a modular design, allowing ports to start small and add functional modules as needs evolve. External users such as agents can access the system to book visits and track progress, supported by role-based access control and browser-based availability (including mobile). It also integrates with Foresight real-time Traffic Display, third-party ship databases (e.g., IHS Sea-web™, Shipping Publications AS, SafeSeaNet), and can interface with finance systems to generate invoicing based on port tariffs.
