Sensors & Robotics – understanding the ocean space

Our sensors and solutions are key to mapping, monitoring and understanding the environmental status of the ocean space. This aids safe and reliable control of vessels on and beneath the sea’s surface. Solutions also enable communication above and below water.

A range of sensors and robotics platforms give access to the ocean’s most remote and previously inaccessible areas. Our autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) HUGIN is one such example.  

Eelume, another example is a co-owned company offering disruptive technology for subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) using a snake-like robot equipped with our sensor technology. Cloud-based monitoring and control solutions play a key role in converting high-fidelity data from our sensors into accessible knowledge about the ocean space – crucial for a sustainable ocean economy. 

Deck machinery & motion control – efficient handling 

Our wide range of products and systems within safety-critical deck machinery spans mooring and anchoring winches to anchor handling, specialised winches and handling systems for merchant, offshore, fisheries, tugs, naval vessels and many other ship types and offshore installations. Products can include electric and hydraulic motors, rigorously tested for extreme conditions. Efficiency and sustainable operations are key drivers, with ‘Safety first’ being our mantra in product development.  

Our fin stabilisers contribute to a safe and pleasant cruise experience at sea, stable naval vessels and secure cargo. Our steering gears are suitable for all ship types and sizes.
