Simrad 50-18

50 kHz single-beam transducer

The 50-18 is a small, single-beam transducer. It incorporates seven Tonpilz elements in a polyurethane housing. The compact design requires little space. The 50-18 transducer is employed extensively with navigational echo sounders. A compatible steel tank and mounting ring are also available.

Key specifications

The resonant frequency of the 50-18 is 50 kHz, and the transducer offers a circular beamwidth of 18 ±3 degrees. The nominal impedance is 60 ohms.

The 50-18 is a versatile transducer with a maximum pulse power input of 500 W and a maximum continuous power input of 10 W. It can be used in a variety of underwater conditions, down to a depth of 10 metres.

The transducer cable is 20 metres long.
