Yara and KONGSBERG won the Norwegian Industry Climate Prize for developing the world's first emission-free and autonomous container ship.

“This is an award we are very proud of and that we want to share with all the partners who have contributed in this innovative project,” says Geir Håøy, CEO of KONGSBERG.

KONGSBERG is responsible for developing and supplying all key technology on board Yara Birkeland, including control systems, sensors and necessary integration for remote and autonomous operations, as well as electrical propulsion, battery and control systems.

The Norwegian Industry Climate Prize has been awarded since 2014 is a collaboration between NHO, NTNU and ZERO. There were 20 nominations divided into 18 different actions.
