Oscar Dyson
"Oscar Dyson" is a Unites States fishery research vessel. It is equipped with scientific echo sounders and catch instrumentation systems from Simrad.
The "Oscar Dyson" is owned and operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in USA. It was launched on October 17, 2003. The "Oscar Dyson" is the first of four new fisheries survey ships to be built by NOAA, and one of the most technologically advanced fisheries survey vessels in the world.
The "Oscar Dyson" supports NOAA's mission to protect, restore and manage the use of living marine, coastal, and ocean resources through ecosystem-based management. Its primay objectives includes monitoring of the Alaskan pollock and other fisheries in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska. The ship also observes weather, sea state, and other environmental conditons, it conducts habitat assessments, and also surveys marine mammal and marine bird populations.

In order to carry out its missions, the "Oscar Dyson" is equipped with the following Simrad systems:
- Simrad ITI wireless trawl positioning and monitoring system
- Simrad FS20 third wire trawl monitoring system
- Simrad ES60 fish finding echo sounder system, operational frequencies 50 and 200 kHz
- Simrad EK60 scientific echo sounder system, operational frequencies 38, 120 and 200 kHz
- Simrad ME70 multibeam scientific echo sounder
