With a well though and well-organized student competition, KONGSBERG is trying to strengthen the motivation of students in the north and south of Norway.

Since 2013 KONGSBERG has organized the student competition Your Extreme. It is a 48-hour case competition, where groups of 2-5 students solve an invented future scenario where sustainability and technology are core fundamentals.

Last year, the competition had 100 teams registered from NTNU. This year, the competition is being extended to include the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), and more than 17,000 students in the south of Norway will have the opportunity to compete for a cash prize of NOK 100,000, as well as the opportunity to present their solution proposal to the top managers in KONGSBERG.

KONGSBERG's promotion bus will be visiting several locations during September.

"We think it's great that USN now becomes a part of Your Extreme. We are very satisfied with the quality of the summer students and those we have recruited from USN so far and hope the competition can help maintain the students' motivation," says Group Executive Vice President HR and Security Hans Petter Blokkum.

In connection with this year’s assignment being released on 28 September, company presentations, product exhibitions, recruitment interviews, food service and much more is taking place in KONGSBERG's brand new promotion bus.

"It is our social responsibility to contribute to students completing their studies and we hope Your Extreme helps to show how seriously we take recruitment in KONGSBERG," CEO Geir Håøy concludes.
