The oil and gas industry was greatly hit in 2020 with the global pandemic and oil price war, and companies had to inevitably take a step back. However, as the oil price slowly stabilised over the past few months and the industry adapts to new working environments, we are starting to see projects coming back to the table and moving along the pipeline. Industry leaders predict that while there was a slowdown in 2020, postponed projects and plans are expected to cause total FIDs to double in 2021 and exceed pre-pandemic levels in 2022.
