Kongsberg Process Simulation expands to meet growing market demands

UK office makes new technical and sales appointments.

Kongsberg Process Simulation Ltd. - KPS continues to expand following recent appointments to key positions at the company's Waterlooville, Hampshire, UK premises. John Hinsley and Mark Baldwin join an established team of senior engineers and process simulation professionals already providing proven technical services to the offshore and oil & gas industries, with the full support of Norwegian parent company, Kongsberg Maritime.

"North Sea energy companies are looking for increased exploitation and production, as a result we are experiencing a growth in demand for process simulation thanks to its ability to increase efficiency throughout the lifecycle of a plant," comments Mike Topp, Managing Director, KPS "Our continuing expansion, including the appointment of both John and Mark improves our ability to provide the full picture capability in terms of flow assurance integrated with process simulation, and our ability to carry out studies as well as large 'Life cycle simulations'.

As a senior process engineer with considerable simulation experience John Hinsley, who joins the company from Intec, is considered to be a leading authority on flow assurance. A major part of his role at KPS is helping to enable the complete integration of flow assurance through the use of the OLGA tool with Kongsberg Process Simulation's D-Spice tool. This capability enables D-Spice to ensure the accuracy of the simulation models at all times, and therefore the capacity to improve operation.

Mark Baldwin, the new UK Sales Manager joins KPS with over a decade's worth of experience in the oil & gas industry: "Despite a decline in production of North Sea oil & gas, KPS is seeing increased demand for its services, as producers recognise the considerable production and revenue improvements gained through the use of process and lifecycle simulation," comments Mark. "We are able to offer valuable input at all oil & gas production stages. Lifecycle simulation can add value to new and existing customers who are looking to increase production efficiency throughout a project's life.
