Kognifai Ecosystem Update
An update on the latest news from Kongsberg Digital and the Kognifai Ecosystem
It’s been a year since Kongsberg Digital launched the ship-to-cloud data infrastructure Vessel Insight and the Kognifai Ecosystem to bring value to both ship owners and solution providers. Since then many ship owners have gotten their first vessels connected – adding a potential of more than thousand vessels in these connected fleets to join the ecosystem in near future. In addition, our Maritime Ecosystem has grown with strategic partnerships formed with Independent Software Providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers, with the following highlights:
At the end of the second quarter of 2020, KDI announced the acquisition of COACH Solutions, a maritime software company providing performance monitoring and weather routing services. The company, that now goes under the name Kongsberg COACH Solutions, has had an exciting growth journey and with the acquisition, close to a thousand subscriptions was added to the Kognifai Ecosystem portfolio, bringing along upselling opportunities for both KDI and its Partners.
In June, KDI signed a partnership with a leading market intelligence supplier, Lloyds List Intelligence. Their services are available to be purchased on the Kognifai Marketplace and Tom, Richmond, Senior Key Account Manager, Lloyds Intelligence has the following to say about the partnership: “Lloyd’s List Intelligence’s appearance on Kognifai will allow us to raise awareness of our services to their expanding audience”.
Lastly, just prior to sending out this newsletter, Kongsberg Digital and ABB Turbocharging have signed a cooperation agreement on edge data collection and ship engine performance analysis. Under this agreement ABB Turbocharging will be using Kongsberg Digital’s Vessel Insight as an additional infrastructure solution for delivering ABB Turbocharging’s digital solutions, starting with ABB’s advisory software for engines, AbilityTM Tekomar XPERT.
