Software Engineer, Offshore Handling Systems – Control & Digital

The Control & Digital department delivers the complete scope of controls, hardware and software, to allow the user to fully utilize the physical equipment in an efficient, safe, and predictable manner.

We are looking for an Software Engineer, Offshore Handling Systems, reporting to the Team Lead, Software. In this role you will be engaged in developing and maintaining the control system platform as well as working with design of control systems on customer projects related to winches and handling systems in our KM Deck Machinery product portfolio.

Previous experience is seen as beneficial, however, Control & Digital are committed to training and developing new engineers through a program of challenging tasks and supported learning. Key accountabilities

  • Defining software requirements and interfaces
  • Implementing software modules and drivers to support key functionalities.
  • Optimizing the software system for real-time performance, reliability, and resource efficiency.
  • Technical support within own organization

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree within Computer, Cybernetic or Automation engineering
  • Capability to understand SW & HW interaction
  • You have an excellent investigative and problem-solving ability.
  • It is beneficial with experience within one or more of the following areas:
    • C or C++ programming
    • Real-time programming
    • Linux based systems
    • Cyber Security
