Senior Electrical System Studies Engineer

 We are looking for a Senior Electrical System Studies Engineer in Kongsberg Maritime, with experience and focuses on power systems and electrical infrastructure for marine and offshore system solutions and power energy conversion. Our department is responsible for project delivery for all Kongsberg's Electro products and solutions.

Key accountabilities:

  • Perform power system analysis mainly with ETAP and Matlab/Simulink for Short Circuit Analysis, Load flow studies, motor starting studies, harmonic analysis, protective relay coordination, arc flash studies, transient stability simulation incl. voltage ride through.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and optimise electrical systems and conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards, ensure safety compliance, and implement mitigation to ensure that the systems are efficient and reliable in accordance with regulations, standards, and class requirements.
  • Streamline processes for delivering and documenting power system studies.
  • Contribute to project planning and reporting.

Qualifications and experience

The preferred candidate has a bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or power electronics and experience from projects within the maritime sector involving international customers. The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience with power systems analysis and electrical infrastructure (HV/LV, AC/DC, DC/AC and DC/DC) for marine and offshore applications. Our new colleague also needs to speak and write English fluently.
