Instrument Engineer (2 years contract)
Overview of Position:
Instrument Engineer shall perform detail design engineering of field instrument, interface and integration to ICSS.
Responsibilities
- Develop instrument engineering analysis, drawings and documentation;
- Participate in design of instrumentation/ICSS systems
- Review/prepare block diagrams, termination and loop diagrams, Instrument Index, instrument Hook-up and mounting details, instrument layouts, control room layouts, I/O schedule, cable schedule, Instrument tagging; and other engineering related documents
- Produce Cause & Effect diagram, Fire & Gas detection layouts, safety engineering and loop schematics
- Write specifications for simple instrumentation systems and equipment related to the Company’s products;
- Write procedures specifying actions to be taken for any unusual/special removal, maintenance and overhaul of instrumentation systems and equipment designed;
- Responsible for design work to support interfaces requirements with the third party equipment related to instrument & automation packages and to provide tailor made solution with cost effectiveness
- Deliver instrument engineering solutions according to the project specification, class, rules and regulations;
- Delivery of engineering solutions that are standard solutions in the Kongsberg library
- Responsible for design review and vendor document review
- Responsible for interface with Electrical & Telecom packages to instrument & automation packages
- Responsible for all interfaces with third party equipment’s related to instrument & automation packages
- Responsible for adherence to the QHMS requirements with respect to design and delivery of correct engineering documentation (e.g. deliverables within budget, quality & planned timeframe);
- Responsible for class approval of project related documents, communication with client/regulatory bodies as project requires
- Communicate with ICSS project team globally related to product engineering
- Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication Engineering;
- Minimum 3 to 8 years’ experience in Marine Offshore / Oil & Gas industry projects;
- Working experience in design and engineering team for conceptual studies, FEED & EPC phases for topsides & marine systems;
- Relevant experience in engineering design, application, testing or commissioning environment;
- Experience with in Tools/AutoCAD is an advantage;
- Experience in MS OFFICE is a must;
- Good knowledge of instrumentation, including DCS/PLC based system and Field instrumentation for marine and offshore;
- Experience in preparation of instrument datasheet, specifications, material requisitions and procurement of instruments;
- Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills and result-oriented;
- Ability to coordinate work with other designers/draftsmen and able to work independently per project lead engineer instructions;
- Must be self-motivated and able to motivate colleges
- Pay package will be commensurate with experience
