Development Engineer - Electronics Design

Over the years we have built KONGSBERG MARITIME to be a world leader within acoustic sensors for every kind of maritime use. We are working on new innovative sensors for autonomous systems to meet global environmental challenges. 

In this exciting future, we are seeking highly motivated researchers and developers to make the next generation of acoustic sensors. We will be developing sensors for autonomous systems to handle all phases of an operation as well as develop capabilities to process smart data collected for optimizing those operations.    

You will be part of a team developing solutions that aim to improve the global environment and be given the opportunity to make important contributions both to the international maritime markets and to the future of our company.  

To strengthen our R&D department, we seek an innovative Engineer who wants to work with cutting edge electronics in multibeam and synthetic aperture sonars, underwater communication and sustainable fishery sensors. 

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Electronics R&D 
  • Analog, digital, and mixed signal design 
  • Signal conditioning and processing 
  • Power supplies DC/DC  
  • Low noise acoustic front-end 


  • Bachelor/Masters degree in Electronics design, Cybernetics, Physics or equivalent 
  • Experience with acoustics sensors and applications will be beneficial 

Personal Qualities 

  • Innovative and able to think outside the box 
  • Have a strong interest in physics and electronics design, preferable in audio/ultrasound technology 
  • Systematic and accurate execution of tasks delivered on time 
  • Analytic approach to problem solving 
  • Work well in a team
