SIM Reservoir™ will be used by a major provider of reservoir and well management consultancy services as a tool in its reservoir management services for customer projects. The customer delivers reservoir, well, and integrated field management services to the upstream oil and gas industry and SIM Reservoir™ became part of its customer offering for the reservoir groups in its Oslo and UK offices as of December 2010.
SIM Reservoir™ will be utilized as part of the company’s reservoir management services because it provides the best tool for visualization and analysis of dynamic reservoir data, which will result in increased understanding of field simulations and improved quality of reservoir studies and projects.
Important decisions are made at the end of the seismic to simulation workflow. SIM Reservoir™ is a powerful visualization and analysis tool that helps reservoir engineers make the right decisions to optimize the production strategy, increase the recovery factor, and reduce costs.
SIM Reservoir™ enables end-users to visualize their reservoir and production data, and view the changes over time. The tool’s superior performance and interactivity enables the user to quickly gain an increased understanding of the dynamics in the simulation, which is crucial in studies related to EOR strategies, in-fill well placement and others. Increased understanding of a current simulation run also decreases the number of simulation runs required and will ultimately save both time and effort to make more accurate decisions.
