Top Tensioned Risers 

Vertically pre-tensioned rigid risers are traditionally used as production and export risers for TLP and SPAR concepts. TLPs and SPARs have insignificant heave and rotational motions, and are therefore ideal platform concepts for rigid top tensioned riser systems. 

We have considerable experience in designing, analysing and verifying of top tension riser systems. A broad suite of computer tools is available in-house to investigate any type and any detail of top tensioned rigid riser systems.
 

Drilling and Completion/Work-over Risers

Our services related to drilling and completion/workover risers include local and global analyses, systems engineering assistance and general 3rd party verification of riser systems. The work covers analyses of and design assistance for riser components as well as defining the necessary rig arrangement to ensure safe running, operation and retrieval of the riser.
 

Steel Catenary and Wave Riser Systems

With increasing water depth, pressure and temperature there is a limit beyond which existing flexible riser designs are no longer suitable. An alternative solution is catenary steel or titanium risers.

The key to a technically and economically feasible steel riser system is to base the field development concept on steel risers from the early planning stage. Using steel risers in a riser system originally designed for flexible risers will in most cases give a non-optimal solution.

The main challenges of steel risers lie in proper design, materials selection, seabed interaction, top and bottom terminations, and installation.
