OPAL Certification

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies has strengthened its position as a key supplier of sophisticated drilling, production optimisation and visualisation solutions for the Middle East Oil & Gas industry by becoming a member of the Oman Society for Petroleum Services – OPAL.

As part of its membership of OPAL, KOGT was required to undertake a series of evaluations and has since been awarded two highly regarded certificates. KOGT has now been verified by OPAL and found to have in place an effective in-house Health Safety & Environment Management System (HSE-MS).

KOGT has also been awarded a certificate by OPAL for meeting the organisation’s requirements for employment standards. This Compliance Verification Certificate (CVC) and the HSE-MS certificates are only awarded to companies after a vigorous verification process, so they reflect the professionalism of KOGT’s in-house processes, human resources and QMS.

CVC is a standard that has been set by Members of the Oman Society for Petroleum Services as a common code of practice. It is a standard that primarily examines the Human Resources Management System and Employment Practices of a company in order to ensure the system demonstrates clearly that certain agreed minimum standards are in place and are applied by the company.

The Middle East is becoming more in tune with intelligent operations and as such, KOGT can play an important role in the safe and efficient development of the resources in the region. As a member of OPAL, KOGT is well positioned to offer its services, as it now complies with local operating standards in terms of HSE and employment.
