ISO 9001 Certification

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) has been awarded the ISO 9001 Certification at its premises in Norway. The certification, which is a key aspect of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), was achieved following an extensive audit which took place 20th – 23rd December 2010 at the KOGT premises in Asker, Horten, Kristiansand and Sandvika.

One of KOGT’s main priorities in 2010 was to develop and implement a QMS, of which the ISO 9001 Certification was an important aspect, so it was a strong finish to a busy year in terms of improving quality. The key reason for implementing the new QMS was to provide a framework for continual improvement, to increase customer satisfaction, as well as to improve operational excellence across the whole of the company.

“The new operating system is essential to document our common way of working and to provide a basis for continuous improvement. The ISO certificate was an important milestone towards our position as a reliable supplier of reliable products and services,” comments Pål Helsing, Executive Vice President, Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies.

Following on from receiving the ISO 9001 certification, KOGT will continue to implement internal audits on its processes and procedures. External audits will be performed at sub-suppliers and the new internal QMS is being rolled out to KOGT subsidiaries in parallel to working with the management in KOGT Inc., KPS Ltd and KOGT Pvt. with a view to preparing for ISO 9001 accreditation at their premises in the US, UK and India.
