MSc in Systems Engineering
Along with several other enterprises in the city of Kongsberg, Buskerud University College (HiBu) and the Norwegian Centre of Expertise (NCE), KONGSBERG has developed a master's degree programme in Systems Engineering that includes a company placement.
The master's degree programme in Systems Engineering takes three years to complete. The breakdown between studies and work will be about 50/50. Each Systems Engineering student is given a mentor who is responsible for following up the student. The students are paid for the work they do in the enterprise.
During the course of the programme, the plan is to take one semester at a college or university abroad. Todays programme is based on a collaboration with Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey, USA), which offers one of the world's leading Systems Engineering programmes. For the time being, Stevens Institute of Technology is responsible for awarding master's degrees to the graduates of the programme.
Once the students graduate, both parties (the student and the enterprise) are free to decide whether they want to continue their cooperation.
