BATRAM 1550 - Laser Range Finder

The BATRAM 1550 (Burst Adjustable Tactical Ranging Aiming Module) is the next generation laser range finder from KONGSBERG. It is based on the combat-proven G1 LRF, of which over 10,000 units have been produced since 2005.

Designed for integration with the PROTECTOR family of Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) from KONGSBERG, this LRF has been enhanced to operate at 1550 nm to drastically reduce visibility to night vision goggles. Combining semiconductor laser technology and InGaAsP material, the BATRAM 1550 is highly reliable and has a lifetime exceeding several thousand gigashots. The BATRAM 1550 is Class 1 eye safe in accordance with ANSI Z136.1 and IEC 60825-1. 
 

Next-generation technology for the warfighter

The BATRAM 1550 (formerly known as the "G3") is designed to give the warfighter a tactical edge when fighting with Remote Weapon Stations. Some key features include:

• Standard measurement range of up to 6,000 meters
• Extended Range feature capable of measurements up to 10 km 
• Multi-pulse technology for robust measurements
• Adjustable continuous measurement mode at 1, 5 and 10 Hz
• Range-gating
• Visible & Infrared laser pointers with two power modes

The original G1 LRF from this family of products was qualified and delivered to, amongst others, the following PROTECTOR RWS customers:

- Portugal

After the enormous success of the G1 LRF and the PROTECTOR RWS, KONGSBERG listened to customer feedback and developed a 2nd generation of its LRF. Incorporating new technologies and several requested features such as dual laser pointers, the BATRAM 905 (formerly the "G2") was qualified for production in summer 2010.

The BATRAM 1550, due for qualification in summer 2011, continues the tradition of self-improvement while maintaining the cost-effective reliability and precision of its predecessors.
