Tactical Area Network
Tactical Area Network
Modern tactical operations increasingly require a high degree of mobility and flexibility. In addition, there is a need for high speed data communication throughout the battlefield. This requires that the communications system is powerful, flexible and future-proof capable of handling new services as well as broadband data applications.
The EriTac system provides automatically switched voice and data communications. Further, EriTac can be configured to suit any type of mission, since its switches can serve as either trunk or access nodes. Its network topology can also be optimized to suit various types of transmission.
No Network Master
Since each communication node in the network is fully autonomous, there are no vulnerable points. When EriTac devides into sub-nets, each part is given full functionality automatically. The network can be re-deployed whenever necessary fast and with a minimum of administration. Operators can select either active or standby remote management.
EriTac interfaces with other networks (civilian or military) on single channel or multi channel connections.
Users connect to EriTac either by cable or radio link using virtually any type of equipment from magneto telephones to high speed data terminals. Since EriTac has a free numbering plan, subscribers can move freely, connect to the network wherever they are, and rapidly be fully operational on the same number at a new location.
