Minister visits Horten Traffic Control Centre

On April 5, 2011, Lisbeth Berg-Hansen, Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, toured the Norwegian Coastal Administration (Kystverket) office in Horten, home to the Horten Traffic Control Centre, which monitors vessel traffic in Oslofjord with the Kongsberg Norcontrol IT VTMIS 5060.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs is, in part, responsible for ports, infrastructure for maritime transport and preparedness against acute pollution. The purpose of the Minister’s visit to Horten was to gain insight into the work around emergency contingencies for oil spills in Oslofjord.
